Welcome to NERD — Nano Engineering Research & Development
NERD is the exclusive research platform for members of the G3 Consortium — producers, consumers, functionalizers, and end users across the Americas. We co‑develop next‑generation materials using high‑purity G3 graphene to deliver longer‑lasting, high‑performance solutions.
Consortium Collaboration
The NERD is the collaboration hub for the G3 Consortium across the Americas. Members co‑develop formulations, test methods, and field trials that shorten development cycles and de‑risk adoption. Our purpose is simple: take G3 from material promise to dependable performance in real products.
We maintain a shared library of validated results so each program builds on the last. Partners bring existing systems and we tune the graphene loading, dispersion and processing to improve durability, thermal transfer and operational reliability without disrupting manufacturing.
Infrastructure & Composites
In infrastructure we target concrete and asphalt where small additions of G3 raise flexural strength, reduce permeability and improve resistance to thermal shock. The goal is longer service life, fewer maintenance cycles and lower total cost of ownership for public and private operators.
For polymers we support thermoplastics, thermosets and rubbers. Controlled dispersion increases modulus and heat flow while preserving toughness. That combination enables lighter components that last longer under mechanical and thermal stress.
Coatings Performance
Our coatings work focuses on corrosion inhibition, lubricity and heat spreading. G3 improves boundary layer behavior, which reduces liquid drag in pipe networks and marine hulls and stabilizes temperature in power and process equipment.
Where electromagnetic performance matters, G3 can deliver absorption and shielding in compact, conformal layers. These properties are being engineered into paints, films and laminates for platforms that must operate reliably in contested environments.
Programs & Data
Members can share data and IP under configurable rules. When projects transition to production we lock the recipe, document the QA steps and train the line so results remain repeatable from pilot to scale.
Data integrity is central. We publish test protocols, reference samples and ring trials so results travel between labs and factories. Every claim is tied to a test ID, a process window and a costed bill of materials.
North America Lab
The first North American NERD lab opens in Florida in 2026 to support field trials, rapid material screening and customer training. It complements partner facilities so customers have local support from evaluation through qualification.
Our commitment is to make advanced materials practical. We help customers replace planned obsolescence with engineered longevity using high‑purity G3 graphene that integrates cleanly into existing supply chains.
